Every expat knows that when you migrate your country, you aren’t just leaving friends and family behind. There is also the food.
Although some British products are available in export shops, they are often more than twice the price, damaged or a little on the stale side. Therefore, I decided to make a list of my most missed food and drink items; to prioritize my consumption habits upon going to Britain, but also, as a request, if visiting from Britain (although I understand a suitcase is only so big).
I could go on and create an infinite list, but there is only so much taunting my taste buds can handle.
Have I missed out anything important? What would be/is on your expat shopping list?
Ok. You have missed a BIG one – cadburys wispas, always first on my list! Mmmmmm…but, I guess you can get them here, if you are willing to pay a ridiculous price in those British stores. Also – tomato flavoured snaps. Mmmm. Wham bars and vimto. Oooh and french fancies and bakewell tarts.
I had friends visit from England in June and I found it funny that they began to miss squash after just a few weeks away from home! I’d forgotten squash was even a thing, really.
Mmm yes, Vimto indeed! and Lucozade! and Fab ice lollies! I’m going to need a bigger list…
